A Prayer for Insulation, Answered

19 Jul

So what was this elusive statement I made last month about life gearing up to get real busy?  Well, folks, the Goodpasters are moving!

It may come as no surprise given how much we’ve grumbled about our house.  But, it’s a huge surprise to us.  When we bought our house six years ago, housing prices were at an all-time high, and we settled on a “starter” home.  When the housing market crashed we sadly realized our “starter” home was a “forever” home because we were so underwater on our mortgage.

Some of you may know that I’ve been praying for insulation.  I was imagining waking up one morning to find some construction workers outside.  They would say something along the lines of “We noticed the snow melting off your roof.  Does this house have insulation?”

 “Nope.”

“Well, we’re with the such and such organization.  We’d like to put insulation in your house for free.”

Well, that never happened.  The Lord works according to His own plans, but He delights in giving us our desires.  We prayed for insulation, and He has given us insulation!  He has also given us:

  • A third bedroom
  • Central air
  • A dishwasher
  • A basement
  • An indoor space large enough for entertaining
  • And so much more with our new house!!

Our new house in South St. Paul!

We are humbled by God’s goodness.
